Dance Classes for Adults in Devon

At Sarah Anne Westcott Dance Studios we believe that all adults should have the opportunity to experience the joy of dance.

We offer a wide range of dance classes for adults in Bideford and Torrington, Devon.

Our classes are designed to to build confidence, nurture development and meet new friends in an inclusive environment. We accept all ages, abilities and experience levels in our classes.

Classes can be booked in 5 week blocks for £40 or pay as you go for £9 a class.

We also offer a 4 week trial for £20 to make sure you find the right class for you. Book today!

Adult Ballet

Our Silver Swans initiative has been developed for older learners so they too can take part in Ballet Classes.

Our teachers are all experienced and qualified in teaching adult dance and fitness classes so you can be sure you are in safe hands.

I achieved a distinction in my BBO Grades 1 to 3 examinations and a merit in Grade 4. I then switched to the Performance Award examination preparation and gained a distinction at Grade 6. I am now working towards Grade 7!

So far, Silver Swans on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, then Stretch and Tone on Wednesday mornings, with an added adult ballet class (not beginners) on a Monday morning, and then there are the evening adult ballet classes on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We offer trial lessons in all classes including our adult classes to make sure our classes are right for you or your child. Our 4 week trial costs £20 for any class or genre during the trial period.
We ask you to wear T-shirt and leggings, although you can wear a leotard and tights for dance classes if you already have them We have a limited number of shoes available to borrow for trial lessons. For health and safety we request hair is securely tied back off the face preferably in a bun for ballet.
A bottle of water, any medication if needed. Please leave personal items at home - we are not liable should anything be lost or stolen.
All levels and abilities are welcome to join our adult classes.
Our uniform is Bbodance regulation uniform and must be specific style/colour according to the grade/dance genre. All dance wear is stocked and may be purchased from the studios.
We encourage our students to work steadily towards exams in the BBO dance syllabus in all genres.
We operate 4 ten week terms per year September-July. Fees are payable termly in advance and may be paid by Bacs transfer, cheque or cash.
